Aventure Commemorates the 50th Anniversary
of the Historic First Moon Landing
This month marks the 50th Anniversary of the historic mission that put the first humans on the moon. On July 20, 1969, American astronauts Neil Armstrong and Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin became the first persons to land on the moon, followed by Armstrong becoming the first to walk on the moon.
As Armstrong took his first step, he famously said, "That's one small step for (a) man, one giant leap for mankind." But this historic achievement belongs to many more Americans than just individual astronauts. Behind the scenes more than 400,000 engineers, technicians and scientists worked to make the Apollo 11 mission a success.
Fifty years later, people around the globe are celebrating and reflecting on this miraculous achievement, and how it continues to influence spaceflight and the technological advancements we are currently striding for today.
"In recent years, the commercial sector has taken on a larger and more challenging role in space exploration," said Hamzah Faruqi, Aventure's Director of Commercial Sales. "Aventure looks forward to U.S. companies like Boeing, Lockheed Martin, and SpaceX, in collaboration with NASA, to continue fulfilling President Kennedy's challenge."
In 1962, President John F. Kennedy laid the foundation for this milestone by famously saying "We choose to go to the Moon in this decade and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard."
Boeing 757-200 with Rolls Royce Engines Acquired by Aventure
Aventure Aviation has acquired for teardown a complete Boeing 757-200, MSN 23850, with two Rolls Royce RB211 engines. The dismantling of the former Nepal Airlines aircraft is underway in Kathmandu, while the engines are being relocated to Atlanta.
"Our aim has always been to supply quality after-market parts with full trace and useful remaining life," said Aventure Aviation's VP of Operations, Talha Faruqi, who thoroughly inspected the aircraft. "The purchase of this aircraft furthers our capabilities to support our growing 757 and 767 customer base," he added.
All harvested parts will be inspected on-site, and shipped to Aventure's main facilities in Peachtree City, Georgia, USA, located near Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.
American Express Summit for Success in Washington Features Aventure on Panel
Aventure Aviation participated in a panel discussion at the American Express Summit for Success on June 13 at the Marriott Marquis Washington, D.C. The panel was entitled "Establishing Your Permanent Presence in the International Markets."
The summit was focused towards companies looking to grow and expand their businesses. In attendance were business owners and leaders, professionals in finance, procurement and business development. Attendees learned how to grow their business through government contracts, corporate procurement, and exporting.
They were able to participate in interactive learning and development workshops, and also connect with fellow business owners, decision makers, contractors and government resources.
