Reach New Heights

Federal Explosives License Issued to Aventure

Aventure Aviation has been granted a federal explosives license from the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). The license allows Aventure to stock cartridges and squibs for commercial and military aircraft fire extinguishing systems, slide deployments, and other emergency escape systems.

"With our ATF license and adopted safety measures, Aventure now has the ability to transfer, ship, receive, and stock aircraft cartridges and squibs," said Robert Tyloch, Aventure's warehouse manager. "Our customers will have immediate access to this new inventory."

"We encourage customers to tell us their urgent needs, as well as their planned annual usage requirements," added Ebrahim Zakaria, Aventure's Sales Director. "We can deliver units throughout the year, as and when needed, at competitive prices."

Aventure Aviation will attend the Singapore Airshow, taking place February 1116 at Singapore's Changi Exhibition Centre. Debuting in 2008, the biannual event has grown to become Asia's largest airshow.

Serving as a global event for leading aerospace and defense companies, the airshow will offer high-level conferences, forums, and other items of interest. It will be attended by senior corporate executives, as well as high-level government and military delegations.

"Our attendance at this event is key for us," said Ron Taylo, Aventure's Operations Manager for Military Sales. "Being there helps us network, create partnerships, and strike deals in this very important location."

February is Black History Month, a celebration of African American achievement and recognition of the central role of blacks in United States history. Aventure would like to draw attention to the Tuskegee Airmen.

The Tuskegee Airmen were the first African American military aviators in the U.S. Armed Forces. They formed the 332nd Fighter Group and the 477th Bombardment Group of the segregated United States Army Air Forces of 1941. With the U.S. being drawn into World War II, it was decided to offer training to African Americans as pilots and mechanics. The new air base at Tuskegee, Alabama, became their training center.

The airmen flew over 15,000 sorties in Europe and North Africa during the war. Their impressive performance earned them over 150 Distinguished Flying Crosses. They made a pioneering contribution to the war and the subsequent drive to end racial segregation in the U.S. military.
