Aventure Aviation has acquired its twenty-first Boeing 737NG. It was delivered by Boeing to Canada's WestJet Airlines in 2001, where it operated for its entire life. This 737-700 aircraft, MSN 30134, is being dismantled in Marana, Arizona, and parts will be relocated to Aventure's Atlanta headquarters.

"With our vast network of partners, we are able to acquire in demand aircraft that will allow us to support our airline and cargo customers with critical 737NG inventory," said Andrew Crombie, Aventure's director of product line.

"Aventure continues to offer a unique global aviation investment platform for investors, leasing companies, and owners," said Aventure president Talha Faruqi.

Aventure is in active discussions with owners, financial institutions, lessors, and airlines to find revenue-generating teardown solutions for idle aircraft.

Barrier-Breaking Female Aviator Honored for Black History Month

For Black History Month, Aventure remembers Bessie Coleman, the first African-American woman, and first woman of Native-American descent to hold a pilot's license.

Bessie was born in Atlanta, Texas on January 26, 1892. Her passion for flying started after her brothers returned from World War I, telling stories about women pilots in France. After rejection from U.S. flight schools, she moved to Le Crotoy, France, to study at the Caudron Brothers' School of Aviation.

She earned her international pilot's license in June 1921, and moved back to the United States. The following year, Coleman performed her first public flight–the first by an African American woman. She would tour the U.S. and Europe, performing stunts in front of thousands.

On April 30, 1926, Coleman took a fateful test flight. A wrench became stuck in the engine, causing the plane to flip over, ejecting her. She died at the age of 34.

Coleman’s legacy still inspires many to this day for her courage, strength, and dedication. Numerous aviation clubs have been named in her honor, and she was inducted into the National Aviation Hall of Fame in 2006.

Celebrating the Year of the Dragon

Aventure is celebrating the Lunar New Year. Also known as the Chinese New Year or Spring Festival, 2024 is the Year of the Dragon, symbolizing power, nobility, honor, luck, and success.

Aventure's New York City-based director of sales for China and Eastern Asia, Xiaohang (Steven) Qu, recounts how his family keeps their New Year traditions alive.

"In Xi'an, the heart of Northern China, it's a time of joyful reunion and cherished traditions," said Steven. "Our home buzzes with excitement as relatives gather around the kitchen table, sharing stories and folding delicious jiaozi dumplings symbolizing prosperity."

"My family in New York keeps the new year spirit alive. We, too, make jiaozi, laughing as we try to replicate the skilled movements of my parents back in Xi'an."

"The New York skyline, a stark contrast to the ancient city walls of my hometown, serves as the backdrop to our celebration."

Whether Xi'an or 7,200 miles away in New York, the essence of the Lunar New Year remains the same–a celebration of family, tradition, and the hope for a prosperous year ahead.

Football Pool Winners Announced

Ray Walvis of Drift Aerospace took the top spot of Aventure Aviation's 6th Annual Football Pick 'Em Challenge. The second place winner is Duncan Midkiff of ODS Security, followed by Jeff Shidlofsky of Touchdown Aviation in third.

They received gift cards in the amount of $250, $150, and $75, respectively, as well as the $25 for each weekly winner.

Participants picked the winner for each weekly game for the 2023 National Football League season. The championship game, Super Bowl LVIII, took place February 11 in Las Vegas, between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers.

Ray Walvis guessed 66.54% of the season's games correctly, narrowly defeating Duncan Midkiff by less than a percentage point. During Aventure's 5th Annual competition, Ray missed the top spot by the slightest of margins.

"Last year, I was fortunate enough to place second, so I was trying really hard this year to improve on that," said Ray. "In the end, I was able to prevail."
