March 2024 – The Newsletter of Aventure Aviation Aventure to Attend MRO Middle East Aventure will attend MRO Middle East, taking place March 5–6 at the Dubai World Trade Center, in the United Arab Emirates. This annual exhibition for aerospace maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) is the largest of its kind in the region. The show expects 6,000 attendees and 250 exhibitors from across the world, representing all levels of the airline supply chain. Attending on behalf of Aventure will be senior vice president Amyr Qureshi. "MRO Middle East has grown over the last decade as demand for the global MRO business continues to rise," said Amyr. "We are again excited to meet with as many MRO shops as possible." "The event always provides a framework to reconnect with end users and negotiate repair and overhaul contracts," he added. Aventure exhibited inside the USA partnership pavilion at the Singapore Airshow, which was held February 20–25 at the Changi Exhibition Centre in Changi, Singapore. Debuting in 2008, the biennial aerospace event hosts high-level government and military delegations, as well as senior corporate executives. It serves as a global event for leading aerospace companies, as well as smaller players, looking for opportunities in the international aerospace and defense market. This year's event attracted over 60,000 people, a show record. Attending on behalf of Aventure was senior vice president Amyr Qureshi, operations manager for military sales Ron Taylo, regional director for Asia Saurabh Tripathi, and military account manager Nayle Siddiqui. "The show was extremely busy with a high number of attendees," said Nayle. "The networking opportunities, and business discussions were key features of the event." Trail-blazing Fighter Pilot Honored Aventure marks Women's History Month by honoring Jeannie Marie Leavitt, the first female U.S. Air Force fighter pilot. Born in St. Louis in 1967, Leavitt's father was an Air Force enlistee, immersing her in the world of military aviation. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Texas, and her Master of Science in Aeronautics and Astronautics from Stanford University. Leavitt joined the Air Force in 1992, the year before restrictions on women flying combat missions were dropped. After completing the F-15E Formal Training Course in April 1994, she officially become the U.S. Air Force's first women fighter pilot. During her career, Leavitt recorded over 3,000 flight hours and 300 combat hours in the F-15. Leavitt would fly in both the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. In 2012, she became the first woman to command an Air Force combat fighter wing. She earned the rank of Major General in 2021. Over her career, Leavitt strongly supported women in aviation.
