July 2024 – The Newsletter of Aventure Aviation Delta Air Lines Inaugural DEI Event Features Speakers from Aventure Aventure CEO Zaheer Faruqi and president Talha Faruqi (second and fourth from left) with their Delta hosts at Delta's June 2024 DEI event. Aventure participated in a "fireside chat" at the Delta Air Lines inaugural Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Convening, held June 11 at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta, in Atlanta, Georgia. Delta's goal of this session was to inspire employees to think intentionally about where their enterprise dollars are spent. Aventure CEO Zaheer Faruqi and president Talha Faruqi spoke at the session, which was co-hosted by Delta's Andrea Thomas, manager of supplier diversity, and Ann Ni, managing director of Tech Ops supply chain. Zaheer and Talha discussed how Aventure, founded just days before 9/11, was able to succeed against all odds during the unprecedented difficulties faced by the industry. They also spoke about the challenges facing Muslims in America following the attacks, stressing the importance of "rising with resilience." They talked about the growth of Aventure and Delta's relationship, and how it is built on trust, quality, reliability, and customer satisfaction. They discussed the importance of DEI, and how Aventure has made it a part of its core values. They described initiatives the company promotes, such as celebrating cultural holidays and recognizing barrier breaking aviators. They also discussed the company's involvement with programs such as the Mandela Washington Fellowship and Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI), and participating in supplier diversity programs. "Supplier diversity programs play a vital role in promoting equity and economic growth," said Talha. Aventure is a member of the US Pan Asian American Chamber of Commerce (USPAACC) and the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC). "Aventure has seen tremendous growth, and we have outgrown our current building," said director of strategic accounts Kevin Lang. "The new building will provide four times more warehouse space and five times more office space." The first phase will incorporate a 70,000 sq ft warehouse. The second will have a 54,000 sq ft office building with a 36,000 sq ft warehouse. There will be state-of-the-art features and eco-friendly attributes, including integrated solar panels. Dedicated warehouse and office space will be available for lease to other companies. An upper level patio overlooking the prestigious Planterra Golf Course will be available to local organizations for community events. Aventure is located just south of Atlanta's Hartsfield Jackson International Airport, the world's busiest, which handles over 104 million passengers annually. This allows Aventure to rapidly ship to customers in nearly every destination in the world. Atlanta is also home to Delta Air Lines, which was recently designated Airline of the Year by Air Transport World.
