The one-year anniversary of the ground breaking of Aventure Aviation's new headquarters will take place on December 13. "I'm happy to say that the first phase of construction is on schedule," said administrative director Kimberly Gay. The new location sits next to Aventure's current headquarters in Peachtree City, Georgia, outside of Atlanta. The current 30,000 square foot office and warehouse opened in 2008. Set to be completed in the spring of next year, the first phase of construction includes a 70,000 square foot warehouse. The second phase will construct a 54,000 square foot office and an additional 36,000 square feet of warehouse. The new complex will be state-of-the-art, and contain eco-friendly features including integrated solar panels. Warehouse and office space will be available for lease to other companies. An upper level patio overlooking the prestigious Planterra Golf Course will be available to local organizations for community events. Aventure is strategically located near the world's busiest airport, Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson International Airport, allowing Aventure to quickly ship parts all over the world. Since 2010, the biennial event has offered access to military and civil delegations, high-level corporate hospitality, and provides technological innovations to industry buyers worldwide. Attending on behalf of Aventure was senior vice president Amyr Qureshi and military account manager Syed Ahson Ahmed. "This was our fourth time attending this vital air show," said Amyr. "It has become a key event for us to further support our services and capabilities to our customers in the region." Aventure Holds Holiday Food Drive Aventure staff held a food drive throughout November to benefit Midwest Foodbank of Georgia, located in Aventure's hometown of Peachtree City. The team donated canned goods and other items that will benefit families in need this holiday season. Opened in 2011, the Midwest Foodbank of Georgia distributes food to over 300 non-profit organizations spanning six states across the south eastern United States. Midwest Foodbank's mission is to combat hunger by providing essential food items to those in need and delivering disaster relief to communities facing the greatest challenges. "Giving back is part of our core values and it reminds us to stay humble and be thankful for all that we have," said director of sales Hamzah Faruqi. Honoring Our Veterans This past Veterans Day, Aventure honored active and retired members of the U.S. armed forces. Veterans Day originated as Armistice Day in 1919 to commemorate the end of World War I and honor the armistice between the Allied forces and Germany on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of the year. "Everyone who served, no matter their role, has done something to help shape our country into a better place," said Steven Olsen, Aventure warehouse associate and U.S. Marine Corps veteran. "Small roles add to the bigger picture." "Through our military aircraft work and support for veterans, Aventure remains dedicated to honoring their contributions," said Ron Taylo, military sales operations manager. Diwali Celebrated at Aventure Aventure celebrated Diwali, the Festival of Lights, which took place October 31–November 1. The five-day celebration, held during the Hindu months of Ashvin and Kartika, celebrates good over evil, light over darkness, and knowledge over ignorance. Festive clay oil lamps called diyas are lit to symbolize these triumphs. Diwali is a major holiday in Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, and Sikhism, celebrated by over one billion people. It is often celebrated with gift-giving, illuminated homes, and festive meals. The holiday provides joy, unity, and spiritual reflection among communities in India and around the world.
