Aventure's senior vice president Amyr Qureshi will attend MRO Middle East on February 10-11 in Dubai. The event is part of Aviation Week Network's event series on the Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) industry.

MRO Middle East is the largest event of its kind in the region, bringing together people from the entire industry under one roof.

"We once again look forward to engaging with a wide range of MRO providers as we continuously forge and build upon relationships with specialist shops showcasing their MRO capabilities from all over the world," said Amyr.

"Aventure has acquired and parted out over 30 commercial airliners to date, and these events enable us to connect with end-user buyers," he added.

The public is invited to submit concepts for a functional and visually appealing break room that has an aviation theme.

"We're looking for innovative designs that incorporate aircraft-inspired elements to make the room a haven for relaxation and inspiration," said administrative director Kimberly Gay.

The winner will receive a $500 prize and invitation to the building grand opening ceremony, where the design will be unveiled. The contest offers participants an opportunity to gain recognition and showcase their creativity in a professional setting.

"The contest is open to all—students, professional designers, or anyone with a passion for aviation and design," continued Gay. "We encourage anyone with a creative mind to participate."

For Black History Month, Aventure honors Guion 'Guy' Bluford. As the first African American to travel to space, his historic journey getting there has paved the way for future generations to reach new heights.

Bluford was born November 22, 1942 in Philadelphia. He knew he wanted to pursue a career in aerospace at an early age, and earned his Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering in 1964.

He served in the U.S. Air Force, where he logged over 5,200 hours of jet flight time during his career. In 1978, Bluford became a NASA astronaut. He spent 688 hours in space across four missions during his career.

"I decided as a kid that I wanted to be an aerospace engineer, so I chased the dream," Bluford said in a speech. "I wanted…not only be a leader for African Americans on the ground, but also a leader in helping put other Black astronauts into space with me."
