December 2025 – The Newsletter of Aventure Aviation Aventure Exhibits at Dubai Airshow
Aventure staff meet with a guest at the Aventure Dubai Airshow exhibit. Aventure exhibited in the USA Partner Pavilion at the Dubai Airshow, which was held November 17–21 at Dubai's Al Maktoum Airport in the United Arab Emirates. In attendance was Aventure's senior vice president Amyr Qureshi, manager of military sales Ron Taylo, and military account manager Shaiq Bashir. The biennial Dubai Airshow began in 1989 with 200 exhibitors and 25 aircraft. This year's show featured some 1,500 exhibitors, 180 aircraft, and 148,000 visitors. "We connected with our existing partners and customers, and also built strong new relationships," said Shaiq. "We are looking forward to even stronger collaborations." Aventure has participated in every Dubai Airshow since 2003, while individual team members have attended since the show's inception in 1989. Atlanta to Host World Cup Matches
Aventure's hometown of Atlanta will play a prominent role in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the world's most popular sporting event. Atlanta will host several matches, including group stage games, knockout rounds, and a semifinal. Held every four years, the World Cup is the premier international soccer (football) tournament, where national teams compete to become world champions. This year's event will see a massive increase to 48 teams and will feature three host nations: USA, Canada, and Mexico. The expanded structure will result in more matches and a wider global representation than in past editions. Aventure has celebrated every World Cup since 2006 by holding a contest where participants predict match results. Past contests brought together aviation professionals from around the world, and Aventure will continue this tradition for 2026. The top prize in 2006 was a then state-of-the-art portable DVD player, while the top prize for 2022 was a new iPhone. "The World Cup is a global celebration of sport," said Hamzah Faruqi, Aventure's director of sales, "With Atlanta hosting key matches, it's exciting to see our city on the global stage." Food Drive Marks a Decade of Giving
Aventure has started a holiday food drive at its Atlanta headquarters to support the Real Life Center in Tyrone, Georgia. The nonprofit provides food, resources, and long-term assistance to families in Georgia's Fayette and Coweta counties. Team members are currently collecting canned goods, non-perishables, and household essentials. "The donations are growing steadily," said office manager Renee Futch. "It's so meaningful when we give back together." "We're grateful for the chance to support families in our community," added marketing associate Michael Griffiths Jr. This year marks ten years of Aventure supporting the Real Life Center, continuing a deep commitment of giving back to the local community. A Hidden River Flows Under the World's Busiest Airport
Many people know that Aventure's hometown airport is the world's busiest. Lesser known is that Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport sits above the headwaters of one of Georgia's major waterways. The Flint River begins as small streams near Atlanta's airport and flows south through Georgia for about 344 miles. As Hartsfield-Jackson celebrates its centennial this year, the airport continues to balance its growth with protecting the river at its source. Long-running efforts in conservation and stormwater management have helped safeguard this important waterway despite the airport's immense activity above it. The Flint River supports wildlife, agriculture, and communities across southwest Georgia, making its quiet beginnings under the world's busiest airport all the more remarkable. The two share a long history on the south side of Atlanta, one shaping global aviation, the other sustaining the region's natural landscape. For 100 years, the Flint River has been a part of Atlanta's airport. It's a reminder of the enduring connection between Atlanta's natural environment and its role as a global aviation hub.
